Helen + Micah | Chapel Hill Wedding Photographer

Loved capturing this rustic, fall wedding for Helen and Micah! It was a beautiful, warm fall day on a private farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Helen did an amazing job with her DIY details! Big thanks to my amazing second shooter, Misty Smith!

  • Janessa Waterman - Jeremy and I met a little over 5 years ago. I was waitressing and just doing my normal routine and in walks this handsome guy dressed in khakis and a polo with some of his other coworkers. My heart jumped the first time I saw him, and I had never experienced anything like that before. I felt something special in my heart. I wrote it off as just attractio n, but 5 years later my heart still jumps when I see him. I waited on him and his coworkers a few different times and one of the other waitresses knew I liked him. She ended up giving him my number and he texted me to say that he was flattered, but had a girlfriend and that was that.

A year later I got a friend request on Facebook from him. Not realizing it was him I left it there for a few days… Finally I realized it was him and was pretty surprised he even remembered me. To make a long story short he came in the restaurant the day after I added him back and asked for my phone number. We talked constantly and I was impressed by how much he respected me from the very beginning. I was talking to other people at the time, but nobody seemed as interested in getting to know who I truly was like he did. We ended up going on our first date and have been inseparable ever since.

We are one of those weird couples who get along extremely well even though we are pretty opposite of eachother. We have an amazing time together no matter what we are doing. He has my whole heart and is everything I ever prayed for and beyond what I ever hoped for in a future husband.

He surprised me and proposed at the Biltmore House in the middle of the gardens. It couldn’t have been more romantic. We are planning on an August wedding this year!ReplyCancel

Macy + Chase | East Tennessee Wedding Photographer

All images taken by Suzanne Garland while second shooting for Jamie Clayton Photography

I had the amazing opportunity to second shoot for Jamie of Jamie Clayton Photography last fall. Macy and Chase wed in a cute little church in downtown Jonesborough, Tennessee. It was a crisp fall day with the smell of hot apple cider in the air. Macy and Chase are beyond head over hills in love and it sure showed! I would have to say my favorite part of the entire day was the first look. You could see the excitement on Macy’s face as she came up behind Chase. And the anticipation on Chases’…..well it was perfect! After a lovely ceremony we headed to the Johnson City Country Club for a romantic wedding reception. With roses and candles filling the room, it was the perfect evening!

Better Together – Jack Johnson

There’s no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing but I can try for your heart
Our dreams and they are made out of real things
Like a shoebox of photographs with sepia-toned lovin’

Love is the answer at least for most of the questions in my heart
“Why are we here?” and, “Where do we go?”
And, “How come it’s so hard?”
It’s not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving
I’ll tell you one thing it’s always better when we’re together

Mmm, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, we’ll look at them stars when we’re together
Well, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together

And all of these moments
Just might find their way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they’ll be gone when the morning light sings
Or brings new things for tomorrow night you see
That they’ll be gone too, too many things I have to do

But if all of these dreams
Might find their way into my day-to-day scene
I’d be under the impression I was somewhere in between
Only two, just me and you, not so many things we got to do
Or places we got to be, we’ll sit beneath the mango tree now

Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together
Mmm, we’re somewhere in between together
Well, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together

I believe in memories they look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up, you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time, and there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing,
We’re better together
